What users say

Reviews never change our score. Ratings are smoothed: a source’s average across all VPNs counts as 50 extra reviews, so a few five-star reviews cannot outrank thousands.

  • Trustpilot

    4.36 of 5, smoothed

From 200 collected reviews (raw average 4.54; all VPNs 3.66). Last 90 days: 4.61 from 165.

The company replied to 11 of 19 negative reviews (1–2 stars).

  • App Store

    3.09 of 5, smoothed

From 1147 collected reviews (raw average 3.07; all VPNs 3.54). Last 90 days: 3.46 from 13.

Ratings shown on the platforms themselves: Trustpilot TrustScore 4.4 (15691 reviews); App Store (US) 4.36 (7937 ratings); Google Play 3.7 (42.8K ratings).

All PureVPN user reviews

PureVPN is a sound pick for a household of devices: it lands 7th of 377 services in VPNRadarLab's ranking with a 5.3/10 score, every sub-score clears the consumer median, and the 27-month Standard plan works out to $2.15 a month. It loses ground where security proof and censorship bypass are concerned, so buyers who need audited servers or hard-core DPI evasion should look at other services. Facts were checked on 15 October 2026.

Is PureVPN good? The sub-scores and the security gap

Apps, support and network size carry the card: platforms and support score 9.0 against a consumer median of 4.3, network 7.6 against 3.1. The breakdown, however, weights privacy and jurisdiction at 30% and security at 20%, and that is where the thin record bites. PureVPN publishes a kill switch, DNS leak protection, WireGuard and post-quantum servers, but it does not publish RAM-only infrastructure, an independent security audit, open-source clients, two-factor sign-in, multi-hop or a bug bounty, so the security section settles at 4.3 (6 of 14 points). Censorship bypass sits at 1.9: obfuscated servers that mask VPN traffic as HTTPS earn the only points, and the provider does not state support for VLESS Reality, Trojan, Hysteria2 or Shadowsocks, the tools that survive strict DPI.

GZ Systems, the BVI and what the policy keeps

The service is owned by GZ Systems Limited (Puresquare), and its legal entity is registered in the BVI, outside the 5, 9 and 14 Eyes alliances. KPMG has independently audited the no-logs policy, which is the largest privacy item, and the policy states the connection IP is not collected. What stays on record: your email, the connection date kept for support (this costs the session-time point), bandwidth totals, device info, app analytics from Firebase, Mixpanel and New Relic, crash reports via Sentry, and dedicated IP records kept 25 days after the subscription ends. A warrant canary is absent and no transparency report is published; VPNRadarLab has no record of a court case or incident that proves the no-logs claim. The safety page walks through the policy clause by clause.

Standard, Plus or Max and the add-ons on top

Tier 27 months Per month Renews at What the tier adds
Standard $58.20 $2.15 $47.95 a year the VPN
Plus $73.80 $2.73 $69.95 a year password manager
Max $95.85 $3.55 $84.95 a year password manager, Data Removal, Dark Web Monitoring, eSIM with 3 GB for 30 days

Monthly rates run $12.95, $17.95 and $19.95. The 27-month Standard plan renews at about 1.86 times its first-term monthly rate, a deduction VPNRadarLab factored into the 5.3 price score, and auto-renewal is on by default; turn it off in your account area if you want only the first term. Paid extras sit on top of any tier: dedicated IP from $2.49 a month (US or UK residential IP from $12.49), port forwarding and Multi-login from $1.49, a dedicated server from $14.99, DDoS-protected VPN with an unpublished price. The refund covers the first purchase for 31 days but excludes renewals, CoinPayments crypto payments and app-store purchases; the 7-day trial converts to a paid plan unless cancelled. The real-cost pricing page adds up the cost per tier.

PureVPN on a Fire Stick, a router and public Wi-Fi

TV boxes take the app directly: Fire TV, Apple TV and Android TV clients exist, while PlayStation, Xbox and Switch go through a router setup. PureVPN itself lists 65+ countries and 6000+ servers on its server list. On hotel Wi-Fi the kill switch is what stops the leak when the tunnel drops, so leave it on. Torrenting is allowed only on the servers marked for P2P; elsewhere it breaks the terms. On a filtered network the obfuscated servers are your single tool. Streaming is untested territory: PureVPN claims nothing about Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Disney+, Prime Video, DAZN or beIN Sports, and VPNRadarLab runs no unblocking tests either.

Who should buy PureVPN and who should skip it

Buy it for a multi-device household, TV setups, cheap long-term pricing and 10 simultaneous connections. Skip it if you want audited RAM-only servers, open-source clients or a service that survives heavy censorship. Alternatives, coupons and user reviews (Trustpilot 4.4/5, App Store 4.36, Google Play 3.7) each get their own card page.

PureVPN review FAQ

Is PureVPN legit?

Yes. The company behind it is registered in the BVI, the logging policy passed an independent audit, and refunds run 31 days on first purchases.

Is there a free version of PureVPN?

No free plan exists. There is a 7-day trial that auto-converts to a paid subscription.

Does PureVPN work on Firestick?

A native Fire TV app is there, so nothing needs sideloading.

Does PureVPN work with Netflix?

The provider makes no claim about it, and VPNRadarLab does not test unblocking, so treat streaming as unguaranteed.

The PureVPN verdict

Wide platform coverage, a large network and a cheap 27-month entry ($2.15 a month, renewing at $47.95 a year) versus a security record that lacks a published independent audit of the apps or servers and a bypass toolkit that leans on one tool alone. Take Standard unless you specifically need the password manager or the identity kit in Max; add a dedicated IP or port forwarding only if a real task demands it.
