GZ Systems Limited and the PureSquare brand: the names behind your subscription

The paperwork has several layers, and only one of them is your actual counterparty.

Name Registered base Role in the group
GZ Systems Limited Tortola, BVI, reg. no. 2039934 Legal operator, signs your subscription
GZT Associates Limited Nicosia, Cyprus Associated company named in the terms
PureSquare Brand umbrella Groups PureVPN, PureDome, PureWL and PureLabs
Gaditek / Disrupt.com UAE The founders' venture builder, lists PureSquare among its ventures

Billing disputes and legal claims land with the first row only: the terms of service point every dispute to BVI law and BVI courts.

From a 2007 office to the PureSquare rebrand

The company's own milestone page starts with a dedicated office in 2007 and a consumer VPN launch in 2008. Mobile apps followed, PureDome for small business security arrived in 2017–2018, and the 2021–2022 period brought a BVI office and a consumer security suite with a password manager. ISO 27001 certification and the PureLabs AI lab are the newest entries on the timeline.

For years the legal base sat in Hong Kong, which reviewers found awkward given Beijing's reach; the CEO's own note confirms the move to the British Virgin Islands. PureSquare became the brand above the product, PureVPN kept its name, and the same people stayed in charge.

Uzair Gadit and the family venture group

Uzair Gadit signs the official CEO note and describes the start as a passion project of a few friends fresh out of college, built "in a basement". He is also a founding partner of Disrupt.com, the venture builder formerly known as Gaditek, which is bootstrapped with no external funding and headquartered in the UAE. The same family co-founded Cloudways, the cloud host sold to DigitalOcean in August 2022, and Kill Ping, a gaming latency tool spun out of PureVPN.

Is PureVPN a Pakistani company?

Depends on what you count. The Gadit family grew up in Karachi and started Gaditek there, and Wikipedia describes the co-founder as based in Pakistan; several reviews still call PureVPN "owned by Pakistan-based Gaditek". The contract entity, though, is a BVI company, and the family group headquarters is now in the UAE. Team roots and legal domicile are two different things, and for your data only the second one matters.

PureDome, PureWL, PureKeep and other products of the same owner

PureVPN Consumer VPN Flagship 5.3 of 10, 7th of 377
PureDome Business VPN / ZTNA for teams Sold separately to companies 1.85 of 10

PureVPN's own score makes it first of the six BVI-registered providers on VPNRadarLab. The site data flags that PureDome stores the connection IP. The PureEncrypt tool announced at the rebrand now shows a PureVPN offer page on its domain. The Max plan adds data removal and dark web monitoring plus a free eSIM with 3 GB for 30 days.

What a BVI owner changes for subscribers

The islands sit outside the 5, 9 and 14 Eyes alliances, so no intelligence-sharing pact covers GZ Systems. That does not make the company above the law: the privacy policy says data is disclosed when compelled by binding law or a court order, which is why the amount of stored data matters more than the flag on the certificate. The logging details and the KPMG no-logs audit are covered on the safety page, and the list of BVI-registered VPNs shows how PureVPN compares with its island neighbours.

PureVPN ownership FAQ

Is PureVPN owned by Gaditek?

Indirectly. GZ Systems signs the contract, and the family's venture builder lists PureSquare (PureVPN) among its ventures.

Is PureVPN still based in Hong Kong?

No. The legal home relocated to the British Virgin Islands, and the founders' venture group behind the brand is headquartered in the UAE.

Are PureVPN and PureDome the same company?

Same owner, different products. PureDome is a separate business offering sold under the same GZ Systems umbrella.

Did the Cloudways sale change who owns PureVPN?

No. DigitalOcean bought the hosting venture only; the VPN stayed with the Gadit family.

The ownership chain in a few lines

GZ Systems Limited, a BVI-registered operator, signs your subscription; PureSquare is the brand umbrella above it; Disrupt.com, the founders' bootstrapped venture group, counts it among its holdings. BVI law governs your account, GZT Associates in Cyprus appears as an associated company, and the Gadit family's Karachi roots explain the "Pakistani VPN" label without changing where your data legally lives.
