PureVPN returns your money within 31 days of the initial purchase if you paid by card or PayPal on its website. Renewals, charges created when the 7-day trial converts, CoinPayments crypto and App Store or Google Play subscriptions fall outside the guarantee. The request goes to help@purevpn.com or to the 24/7 live chat.

How the 31 days are counted

The guarantee covers the first payment of a new plan, and the clock runs from the order time itself, down to the hour. If the order went through at 9 in the evening, support must hear from you before 9 in the evening on day 31. Renewal payments carry no guarantee of their own: once the plan rolls into its next term, that charge is final.

Payment methods PureVPN marks non-refundable

At checkout, PureVPN marks some payment methods as non-refundable before you confirm the order.

How you paid Covered by the 31 days Who returns the money
Card on the website Yes PureVPN, back to the card
PayPal on the website Yes PureVPN, to your PayPal account
Crypto via CoinPayments No Nobody
Apple App Store No Apple, under its own rules
Google Play No Google, under its own rules

Paying in Bitcoin keeps your card out of the system, and it also removes the safety net. Accounts issued for special purposes are excluded from the policy as well.

Sending the refund request

  1. Write to help@purevpn.com and include your VPN username plus a brief reason. The full rules sit on the official refund policy page.
  2. Live chat is the alternative, and agents answer around the clock; the money-back page lists it as a valid channel.
  3. PureVPN commits to trying to fix your problem before processing a refund. If you just want the money, decline politely.
  4. Keep the confirmation reply in case the charge stays on your statement longer than expected.

The policy is worded as "no questions asked", yet a reason belongs in the email. One sentence suffices.

Processing time and the original payment method

A valid request gets processed within 24 hours, PureVPN says. When the money becomes visible is the bank's call: depending on the bank, card or payment provider, it can take up to 30 days to appear. Funds return to the original payment method, so card refunds show on the bank statement and PayPal refunds land back in the PayPal account.

Renewal charges and the 7-day trial

Two bills cannot be reversed: a renewal after the first term, and the charge created when the trial auto-converts to the plan chosen at sign-up. To dodge both, switch auto-renew off ahead of the date; the steps live in our PureVPN cancellation guide. For context, the 27-month Standard deal costs $58.20 and renews at $47.95 a year.

Subscriptions started in the iPhone or Android app

A store subscription is refunded by the store that billed you, under store rules, not by PureVPN. Apple users file the claim on Apple's refund request page; Android users turn to Google Play's own help centre. The 31 days do not apply to either.

How the refund terms move the PureVPN score

The 31-day window earns full refund points in the VPNRadarLab price and terms sub-index, which caps at 30 days, and the trial plus self-service cancellation add more. Points disappear for the renewal price jump (a x1.86 per month rise on the cheapest Standard deal), for the missing published stance on refunds of monthly plans or unused time, and for the absence of a renewal reminder. The sub-index stands at 5.3 of 10; the overall score is also 5.3 of 10, and that overall figure places PureVPN 7th of 377 in the main ranking.

PureVPN refund FAQ

Is there a data or connection limit on the refund?

The refund rules name no data, session or device cap. The general terms set a fair-use cap of 300 sessions a day, which concerns use of the service, not the refund.

Can I get money back for unused months after day 31?

The site leaves this unstated. You can ask support, but nothing published promises a yes.

Is a Bitcoin payment refundable?

No. Crypto paid through CoinPayments is marked non-refundable at checkout.

Does a renewal I forgot about qualify?

No. Renewals sit outside the guarantee, and Reddit complaints about PureVPN refusals usually trace back to exactly such charges: renewals, trial conversions, store or crypto payments.

PureVPN refund rules at a glance

You get one shot per new plan: 31 days from the order hour, for the first payment only. Website payments by card or PayPal qualify; crypto, Apple and Google Play buyers do not. Email help@purevpn.com with your username and reason, or use live chat. PureVPN commits to processing a valid request within 24 hours, after which your bank may need up to 30 more days, and the money goes back to where it came from. Renewals and converted trials are final.
