Two versions of one guarantee

CactusVPN gives you 30 days for a refund, and there is no trial period: the service states outright that instead of a trial it offers a month of full access with the right to a refund. On the pricing page the guarantee sounds generous: any plan, full refund within 30 days, no questions asked. In the terms of service and in the Refund Policy section on the same page, the wording is different: you get your money back if the service does not work as advertised. Count on that version, since it is the one written into the rules.

When they will say no

The terms name four cases. Payments made in cryptocurrency are not refunded at all, so for your first payment a card or PayPal is safer. They will also refuse anyone who tried to unblock an unsupported website or use an unsupported device, and anyone whose account was closed for violations. The fourth point concerns systems without official support. CactusVPN has no app of its own for Linux, so buying specifically for Linux risks falling under this clause. The same risk applies to streaming: the Smart DNS list of 340+ sites does not explicitly name Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Disney+ or Prime Video, so a refund claim over one of them may count as an unsupported site.

How to ask for a refund

There is no separate form or described procedure on the site. You need to write to support: the live chat runs around the clock, and there is a ticket form. Include the account email, the payment date and exactly what does not work, with the server name and protocol. Since the refund is tied to the service not working as advertised, a specific fault in your request carries more weight than simply "didn't like it". Refund terms from other services are collected in our overview of VPN refund policies.

Do they refund monthly plans and unused time?

The service says nothing about the monthly plan, purchases through the App Store and Google Play, or unused time after the 30 days. The plans are covered on the CactusVPN pricing page.
