About VPNRadarLab
An independent VPN ranking that scores only what providers publish, with an open formula and no affiliate links.
What VPNRadarLab is
VPNRadarLab is an independent ranking of VPN services. It covers 832 services, scores them on six sub-scores and keeps every input visible: on each service page you can see which published fact earned which points and what was missing.
Next to the score we show 345,355 user reviews from Trustpilot, the App Store, Google Play and Reddit, kept apart from the score, and tools that work from the same data: a cost calculator with renewal prices, comparisons, maps of owners and jurisdictions.
How we work
Only published facts. Prices, policies, audits, apps and network size come from each provider’s own site and app-store listings. Each service page shows when its data was collected and links to the sources.
An open formula. The criteria, points and weights are listed on the methodology page. The same formula applies to every service, including small and new ones.
Not stated is not yes. When a provider does not publish something, we say so instead of guessing, and it earns no points.
No tests we cannot repeat fairly. We do not run speed or blocking tests; streaming and access in restricted countries are shown as the provider’s claims.
Independence
There are no affiliate links on this site, no paid placements and no sponsored rankings. Providers cannot buy a position or a better score. Links to providers’ sites are plain links.
Providers and readers can point out mistakes through the error report form. Corrections change the data and the score follows; data a provider sends counts only after we have checked it against what it publishes.
