Yes, hide.me returns the full sum of a first Premium order if you ask in writing within 30 days of buying, have never claimed a refund from them before, and have stayed within the Terms of Service. Renewals and app store purchases sit outside this guarantee, and the money can take up to 10 days to arrive.
The three conditions behind the 30 days
The guarantee, described by hide.me as "no questions asked", rests on three checks. The written request must reach support within 30 days of the plan start. The order must be your first one with the service, and no earlier refund may exist on your account. Third, nothing in how you used the VPN may violate the Terms of Service. Once all three hold, hide.me returns the full amount named in the contract.
The official refund policy names no data cap, no connection-time limit and no device limit as refund conditions. The constraints are the 30-day window, the first-order rule, and one refund per customer.
Which purchases hide.me pays back
| Purchase | Refund from hide.me | Action |
|---|---|---|
| First website order, any Premium term | Yes, within 30 days | Email support |
| Renewal charge | No, a renewal is not a first order | Cancel before the next billing date |
| App Store purchase | No, Apple's policy applies | Request it from Apple |
| Google Play purchase | No, Google's policy applies | Request it from Google |
| Free plan | Nothing was paid | Nothing to claim |
The written conditions do not separate short and long plans: whether you took Premium 1 month at €11.99, Premium 12 + 1 months at €54.99 (€4.23 a month), or Premium 24 + 2 months at €69.99 (€2.69 a month), what counts is that the order is your first one. VAT may sit on top where it applies. Crypto and bank transfer payments are the grey area: the policy says nothing about how those come back, so ask support before paying that way if a refund might ever be needed.
Writing the refund request
Send an email to support@hide.me within the 30-day window. Name the account address, quote the number of your order or invoice, and state plainly that you are cancelling and want the money back under the money-back guarantee. Live chat, Telegram, Discord and the community forum exist too, but the written request is what the policy names.
One warning: the official cancellation page asks users who leave because the VPN does not work to contact support first, so expect an agent to offer a fix before processing the refund. Repeat your request if that happens.
After approval, an email confirms the refund. The transfer itself can take up to 10 days from cancellation, and the payment form decides the speed. If nothing lands after ten days, write again through the contact form and quote the earlier ticket.
Cancelling stops the renewal, not the charge
Website orders run through Paddle or Cleverbridge. Paddle subscriptions are cancelled in the hide.me account under Purchase History, Manage Subscription; Cleverbridge orders use the link in the payment confirmation email. Cancelling only switches off auto-renewal, and access continues to the end of the paid period. On its own, a cancellation returns nothing.
Bought in the App Store or Google Play
Store billing follows the store's own rules, and the hide.me policy does not apply to those transactions. An iPhone or iPad user requests the refund from Apple; Android users go through Google Play. A further catch: a subscription bought in a mobile store runs only on phones and tablets, so using it on a computer requires an upgrade to the Premium plan.
How 30 days compares with the rest of the market
Thirty days is exactly the median. Of 377 services on the VPNRadarLab refund policies page, 259 publish a window above zero days, and 147 of those sit at 30 days; 94 offer less and 18 offer more. In the price and terms sub-index (5.38 of 10, worth 15% of the total) the 30-day window earns full credit, since the criterion is capped at 30. VPNRadarLab's data records no separate published terms for refunds on monthly plans or pro-rata refunds of unused time, so those two fair-terms criteria score zero, and there is no free trial. Renewal pricing costs nothing, because the Pricing Guarantee renews at the same price and duration. Overall, hide.me holds 3.97 of 10, in place 42 of the VPNRadarLab main ranking.
Hide.me refund questions
Can I get a refund after a renewal?
No. A renewal is a repeat order, and the policy covers only the first purchase.
Is there a data limit on the refund?
The hide.me refund policy names no data, time or device limit. The conditions are the 30 days, the first order, no earlier refund and no Terms of Service breach.
Can I get a second refund later?
No. One refund per customer is among the three conditions.
Does hide.me have a free trial instead?
No trial exists. Instead there is a free plan: €0, unlimited data, 8 locations, one device, restricted speed, no card required, nothing to refund.
Before you email hide.me support
Check the plan start date and count 30 days from it. Confirm the purchase was your first website order rather than an app store payment. Then send a written request to support@hide.me, watch for the confirmation email, and allow up to ten days for the money, contacting support again through the form if it has not arrived.
