What Hide.me costs Premium terms, the free plan and flat renewals

The cheapest Hide.me Premium rate is €2.69 a month on the 26-month prepaid plan (€69.99 upfront), which sits about 14% below the €3.13 market median across the VPNRadarLab ranking. Every plan renews at exactly the same price and duration, so the rate you sign up at is the rate you pay again. All prices are published in euros.

Free tier against Premium: where the paywall sits

The free plan costs nothing, needs no card, and caps nothing on data volume; what it does cap is speed, locations (8 in total) and devices (one at a time). Premium removes those caps and adds streaming support, plus a fixed IP and dynamic port forwarding, both inside Premium at no extra fee. You also get 2600 servers to choose from and ten simultaneous connections instead of one.

Picking a Premium term: one month, thirteen months or twenty-six

Three billing terms exist, and they all give access to the same service. The differences are the upfront sum and the bonus months: the 12-month term runs 13 months (one bonus month), the 24-month term runs 26 (two bonus months).

The usual bait-and-switch, where a cheap first term jumps at renewal, does not happen here: the Pricing Guarantee on Hide.me's own pricing page states that your plan always renews with the same price and duration, so the renewal factor is ×1.0. Auto-renewal is switched on by default, which means the charge of €69.99 (or €54.99, or €11.99, depending on your term) arrives automatically unless you cancel. Over three years the maths looks like this: the 26-month plan needs one repeat payment, €139.98 in total; the 13-month plan two, €164.97; monthly billing stacks up to €431.64, roughly three times the long plan for the same coverage. Over a single year the 13-month term is the smaller outlay (€54.99 against €69.99 for the 26-month plan), while the 26-month plan wins over two years (€69.99 against €109.98) and three alike.

Bundled in Premium, not sold at all

Apart from VAT, nothing is sold as an add-on, so the advertised euro figure is the whole figure.

Take the 13-month term only when a €69.99 upfront payment is too much at once, and treat monthly billing (€11.99, about 3.8 times the median) as what it is: a stopgap.
