What you pay to keep IPVanish running: the first term, then renewals at the published renewal price. Where no renewal price is published, plans shorter than a year are counted as repeat payments at the current price; longer plans show a dash after their term. Converted to euros at the rates used in our data (1 USD = €0.86). The lowest cost for each period is marked.

- Intro price for first term; yearly & 2-year renew yearly at $99.99 (Essential) / $109.99 (Complete) / $129.99 (Advanced); monthly renews at same price
Essential, the entry plan, starts at $2.39 a month on the two-year term ($57.36 upfront) and renews at $99.99 a year once that term ends. Complete and Advanced follow the same pattern at $109.99 and $129.99 yearly. Against a VPNRadarLab market median of €3.13 per month, the two-year intro rates sit below the median, while the renewal prices sit far above it. All figures below are in US dollars exactly as published on IPVanish's pricing page.
Essential, Complete and Advanced side by side
| Plan | 2-year term | 1-year term | Monthly | Yearly renewal |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | $57.36 ($2.39/mo) | $46.68 ($3.89/mo) | $14.99 | $99.99 |
| Complete | $74.16 ($3.09/mo) | $57.48 ($4.79/mo) | $15.99 | $109.99 |
| Advanced | $86.16 ($3.59/mo) | $64.68 ($5.39/mo) | $17.99 | $129.99 |
The core VPN is the same on every plan: unlimited devices, unlimited data, no speed cap. The tier names only decide which extras come bundled, so if you want the VPN alone, the cheapest column already delivers it.
The yearly bill after the intro term ends
The discounted rate covers the first term only. Both the one-year and two-year orders then bill every twelve months at the full yearly price. On the two-year Essential that means $2.39 becomes about $8.33 a month, a 3.49× jump (our page rounds it to ×3.5). Complete and Advanced roughly triple, and the one-year Essential about doubles to roughly 2.1×, since its intro rate started higher.
Auto-renewal is on by default, which is how the cheap rate silently turns into the expensive one. Switch it off in the Control Panel right after signing up, or in the app store if you subscribed in-app. Over three years the two-year Essential plus one renewal totals $157.35, while three years of monthly Essential billing costs $539.64. The "up to 84%" badge is measured against 24 months at the $14.99 monthly price ($359.76 crossed out), not against the renewal invoice you will actually receive.
What the dearer plans add, and for whom
Complete adds antivirus software and phone support to what Essential has. Advanced adds a Secure Browser, 1TB of Livedrive cloud backup and a larger 5GB eSIM allowance. Every plan comes with eSIM data (3GB, 5GB on Advanced) and the data breach checker. Separately, IPVanish lists Double Hop, Threat Protection (ad, tracker and malware blocking), a URL checker and a QR scanner without naming a plan for any of them. There is no password manager, only a password generator.
On the two-year term, stepping up to Complete costs $16.80 more upfront and Advanced $28.80 more; at renewal those gaps become $10 and $30 a year. The upgrade pays off only if you would buy antivirus or backup separately anyway.
How IPVanish compares with the €3.13 market median
| Rate | € per month | Against the median |
|---|---|---|
| Essential 2-year | 2.06 | Below |
| Advanced 2-year | 3.09 | Just below |
| Essential 1-year | 3.35 | Above |
| Essential monthly | 12.89 | About 4× |
Euro figures are VPNRadarLab conversions at 1 USD = €0.86. The €3.13 median comes from the VPNRadarLab price and payment overview. In the VPNRadarLab "price and terms" sub-score IPVanish gets about 2.5 of 10, and the renewal jump takes the full 2-point penalty there. Points come from the entry price, the 30-day refund window, unlimited devices and self-service cancelling; zero goes for a free plan, a published free trial, crypto, cash, renewal reminders and automatic refunds on monthly plans. For context, the service holds a total score of 4.1 and place 30 in the main ranking.
Payment methods and refund rules at checkout
IPVanish accepts Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, Diners Club, UnionPay, PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Amazon Pay and in-app purchases through the App Store, Google Play and Amazon. No cryptocurrency and no cash, so there is no way to pay anonymously. Sign-up needs a verified email only; no phone number, no identity check. The 30-day money-back guarantee applies to yearly and two-year plans and is refunded automatically within 3 business days when cancelled in the Control Panel; the refund page explains the details, including that monthly plans are not refunded automatically.
Short answers before you subscribe
How do I get IPVanish for free?
You cannot. There is no free plan and no published trial; the 30-day money-back guarantee on longer terms is the closest equivalent.
How many devices does one subscription cover?
Unlimited, which is also why IPVanish sells no family plan.
Are bonus months or a crypto discount offered?
Neither. No bonus months exist, and crypto is not accepted as payment at all.
Bottom line for IPVanish buyers
Pick Essential on the two-year term at $2.39 a month, switch off auto-renewal immediately, and reassess before the $99.99 yearly charge lands. Complete earns its $16.80 premium only if you want antivirus from the same vendor, and Advanced only if a terabyte of Livedrive backup and a Secure Browser are things you would pay for regardless. Monthly billing at $14.99 works as a short test, nothing more; after renewal, entry-level IPVanish costs roughly 2.3 times the market median per month.
