What you pay to keep PureVPN running: the first term, then renewals at the published renewal price. Where no renewal price is published, plans shorter than a year are counted as repeat payments at the current price; longer plans show a dash after their term. Converted to euros at the rates used in our data (1 USD = €0.86). The lowest cost for each period is marked.

PureVPN's cheapest rate is the Standard plan at $2.15 a month, meaning $58.20 upfront for a 27-month deal (2 years plus 3 bonus months). After that first term the subscription renews yearly at $47.95, which pushes the real monthly cost to about $4.00. For context, the market median at VPNRadarLab is €3.13 a month, so the intro rate sits well below it while the renewal rate lands slightly above.
Standard, Plus and Max on each billing term
| Plan | 27 months | 16 months | Monthly | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $58.20 upfront ($2.15/mo) | $40.80 upfront ($2.55/mo) | $12.95 | VPN only |
| Plus | $73.80 upfront ($2.73/mo) | $72.80 upfront ($4.55/mo) | $17.95 | Password manager |
| Max | $95.85 upfront ($3.55/mo) | $88.80 upfront ($5.55/mo) | $19.95 | Password manager, eSIM with 3 GB, Data Removal, Dark Web Monitoring |
All tiers include unlimited data under fair use, no speed cap and 10 devices at once. Plus earns its keep only if a password manager was already on your list. Max fits travellers who would use the eSIM, or anyone wanting Data Removal and Dark Web Monitoring.
The yearly charge after the deal ends
Every long deal converts into an annual auto-renewal, which is switched on from day one. The jump differs by plan: on the long Standard deal the monthly cost grows 1.86 times (our page shows it rounded to ×1.9), on Plus roughly 2.1 times, on Max about 2 times. The discount badge promising up to 85% off measures the deal against paying month by month, not against the charge that follows at renewal.
To keep the choice open for later, switch renewal off in the member area straight after paying; live chat and email work just as well, as described in VPNRadarLab's cancel guide.
Why the shorter deal can cost more in year two
Counterintuitively, on Standard and Max the 16-month deal renews at a higher yearly price than the 27-month one: $57.95 versus $47.95 on Standard, $89.95 versus $84.95 on Max. Plus renews at $69.95 either way. Over three years the cheapest path is the long Standard deal with a single renewal: $106.15 in total. The shorter option packs two renewals into the same window and reaches $156.70, while paying month by month for three years costs $466.20.
Add-ons that raise the monthly bill
Add-ons sit on top of any plan and none of them is bundled into Plus or Max: dedicated IP from $2.49 a month (banks and work portals stop flagging your shared address), port forwarding from $1.49 a month (torrent seeding, a game or home server), Multi-login from $1.49 a month (lifts the device limit to 20), residential US or UK IP from $12.49 a month, and a dedicated server from $14.99 a month. A DDoS-protected option is listed without a published price.
PureVPN sells no antivirus, double VPN or cloud storage at all. Businesses can take the Teams plan at $7 per user per month billed annually (list price $9), and a family plan exists, though VPNRadarLab's snapshot did not record its price. Stack two add-ons and the low entry rate stops looking low.
Trial, checkout and payment
The 7-day trial converts into a paid subscription automatically, and a renewal that comes from a trial is not refundable. Published prices are in USD without VAT; the checkout adds tax depending on your country. Payment methods cover cards, PayPal, Bitcoin and other coins via CoinPayments, plus the App Store and Google Play. Sign-up needs an email only, with no phone number or identity check. The refund policy covers the first purchase for 31 days, while renewals, trial-based renewals and purchases through CoinPayments or the app stores are excluded.
PureVPN against the €3.13 market median
| Rate | €/month | Against the median |
|---|---|---|
| Standard, 27 months | 1.85 | Well below |
| Plus, 27 months | 2.35 | Below |
| Max, 27 months | 3.05 | Below |
| Plus, 16 months | 3.91 | Above |
| Max, 16 months | 4.77 | Above |
| Standard after renewal | ~3.44 | Slightly above |
| Standard monthly | 11.14 | ~3.6× the median |
The comparison draws on VPNRadarLab's price overview. The price-and-terms sub-score sits at 5.3 of 10; the overall score is also 5.3, which puts PureVPN 7th in the VPNRadarLab main ranking. The entry rate, the trial, the 31-day refund window, the 10-device count, crypto payment and self-service cancelling all earn their points; what pulls the score down is the renewal penalty (0.66 points docked), plus no points for a free plan, for cash (not listed), for renewal reminders, or because auto-renewal is on by default.
PureVPN billing questions
Is there a free version of PureVPN?
No. The 7-day trial is the only cost-free way to test it.
Can I buy a lifetime plan?
No. The longest option is the 27-month deal.
How many devices does one subscription cover?
Ten simultaneously, extendable to twenty with Multi-login.
The cheapest sensible way to buy PureVPN
Take Standard on the 27-month deal, decline the add-ons you will not use, and turn off auto-renewal immediately after checkout. That path costs $58.20 for the first term and $47.95 a year after. Step up a tier only for the bundled password manager or the identity extras, and skip monthly billing if you need the VPN for longer than a few weeks.
