How to cancel PureVPN and turn off auto-renewal, including the 7-day trial

A plan bought on the PureVPN website is cancelled in the Member Area: sign in, open Subscriptions, expand the arrow next to your plan, choose Cancel Subscription, name a reason and confirm. If the plan was paid in the iPhone or Android app through a store, only that store can switch the billing off; PureVPN support cannot. Cancelling disables auto-renewal only, so time already paid keeps running to the end of the term.

Turning off renewal in the PureVPN Member Area

The official cancellation guide lays out the flow:

1. Log in with the account email and password.
2. Open Subscriptions.
3. Click the drop-down arrow beside the plan and pick Cancel Subscription.
4. State why you are leaving and press the continue-cancellation button.

Before that last click the service warns that cancelling will leave your connection unprotected. Read it and move on. When no cancel control appears at all, write to the 24/7 live chat or open a ticket; the refund policy also lets you cancel auto-recurring payments any time before the renewal date by emailing help@purevpn.com. The request must land before that date, otherwise the card is charged and you are negotiating a refund instead.

PureVPN billed through Apple or Google Play

Store-bought subscriptions belong to Apple or Google, and PureVPN's help pages refer such customers to their instructions. Its agents cannot stop that billing.

On an iPhone or iPad: Settings, tap your name, Subscriptions, PureVPN, Cancel Subscription. When the cancel button is absent or the expiry date appears in red, cancellation has already happened. On a Mac the same list sits in the App Store under your name; Apple's support page covers the rest.

On Android, make sure Google Play is opened with the Google account that actually pays. Then profile icon, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions, PureVPN, cancel. Removing the app from the phone leaves the store subscription fully active.

Ending the 7-day trial before it converts

The trial runs seven days with full features, then converts automatically into the plan chosen at sign-up and bills for it. Cancel or switch auto-renew off before day seven ends. On Apple the margin is thinner: the store requires cancellation at least 24 hours before the trial closes, otherwise the charge goes through.

Once renewal is off

The bonus-month deals and the yearly price behind them

The bonus months stretch the 1-year and 2-year deals to 16 and 27 months, which explains why one bill covers more than a year or two of service. After that, renewal costs more per month than the deal did: by x1.86 on the cheapest Standard plan, though on the 16-month Plus and Max deals the yearly rate is only somewhat above the deal rate.
