Where to turn off renewal
The monthly, two-year (1+1 year) and three-year FastestVPN plans renew automatically, and the service does not say whether it sends a reminder before the charge. You can switch off renewal in the Account Settings of your dashboard on the website. The deadline is strict: no later than 24 hours before the end of the paid period, because the renewal charge goes through within the last 24 hours of the period. A subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play is cancelled in that store's subscription settings. The lifetime plan for $40 is paid once, so there is nothing to renew.
What happens to your money after cancellation
You can cancel in the middle of a term, but the terms say there is no refund for the remaining months. If fewer than 31 days have passed since the first purchase, it is better to request a refund right away: see the FastestVPN refund policy. Keep in mind that after such a request the account is blocked immediately, and renewals and payments made with cryptocurrency are never refunded.
Why you should not put off cancelling
FastestVPN does not show the renewal price, and the figures on the site do not match: on the purchase page a month costs $5, while the terms of service list $10 per month, $2.49 per month on the one-year plan and $1.11 per month on the three-year plan. Under the terms, the new prices apply only at renewal, the service promises to warn you in advance, and those who disagree are told to close the subscription. When the amount of the next payment is unknown, the safer move is to turn off auto-renewal in advance and decide on renewal closer to the end of the term.
