Best Dedicated IP VPNs: What the Add-on Costs and What You Give Up

What a Dedicated IP Changes, and What It Does Not

A shared exit carries many users at once. When someone behind it spams a site, that address ends up blocklisted and the rest pay the price. A dedicated address is yours alone, so its reputation depends on your own activity. It is always static too, but the reverse is false: a static address can still be shared. If the same address each time is all you want, the static IP ranking covers those options separately.

Allowlisting is the other practical gain. Banks, office systems and work VPNs accept one known address, and a dedicated one supplies it. What it does not change: a typical dedicated VPN address still sits in a data-centre range, so sites that flag those ranges can still flag it. Residential addresses are the fix there, and 8 of the 71 services state they offer them.

The score is built from what providers publish (audits, policies, network size, prices); VPNRadarLab runs no speed or unblocking tests, so a claim like fewer CAPTCHAs stays the provider's word. The server network carries 40% of the weight, privacy 20%, security 13%, so large networks with extra network options rise to the top.

Included, Add-on or Separate Plan: What It Costs

NordVPN, Surfshark, Private Internet Access and ExpressVPN sell the add-on without showing its price on the pricing page; ExpressVPN includes it in Pro. iTop VPN gives free dedicated IPs in the UK, US, Canada and Germany.

Terms That Bite After You Pay

GhostVPN marks its dedicated IP as non-refundable, and SwissVPN wants CHF 10 a month with a six-month minimum and a signed contract. VPN Secure charges $142 a year with limited availability and manual setup. OllaVPN, FinchVPN and AtmosVPN sell addresses only to business accounts, on request.

The Top Three Side by Side

What Holds Each of the Three Back

All three sit outside the 5/9/14 Eyes alliances and have some form of independent audit, which is better than most of the field (only 14 of 71 have one). CitadelVPN's cheapest PRO plan caps data at 50 GB a month, refunds in 14 days only, and skips PayPal. X-VPN and PureVPN both score low on security (4.6 and 4.3) for the same reason: neither of them publishes a security audit, open-source apps or two-factor sign-in. Obfuscation is the only anti-blocking tool either one lists, which leaves both at 1.9 on bypass. PureVPN also renews at $47.95 a year, 1.86 times its first-term price.

The Anonymity Trade-off

Every session from a dedicated address ties back to the account that pays for it. Blending in with the crowd is gone for good, so the audit and the way you pay weigh heavier than on a shared plan: pay in crypto where accepted, and reserve that address for logins that already identify you.

Checks Before You Buy

1. Confirm that the country you need appears on the add-on list, beyond the server map.
2. Check whether the add-on falls inside the refund window.
3. Look up what the base plan renews at, since the first term alone hides it.
4. See if the address activates in the app or needs manual config.
5. For hosting or remote desktop, add port forwarding, since inbound connections need it.

FAQ

Short Answer

A dedicated IP solves blocklisted shared exits and enables allowlisting, while costing you the anonymity of the crowd. CitadelVPN states a dedicated IP without publishing its price, X-VPN includes a static IP in Premium, and PureVPN publishes its add-on at $2.49 a month, while the separate dedicated plans in the table cost about $6 to $19 a month. Pick the service with an audit, the address in your country and refund terms you can live with.
