Best VPN for Belgium: How the Services With Belgian Servers Compare

Why people connect through Belgium

Three use cases dominate. An expat wants VRT MAX or RTBF Auvio, because Belgium splits its public broadcasting by language: Dutch-speaking VRT and francophone RTBF each run an app with location checks. Bank and itsme sign-ins behave better when the session comes from an address the bank associates with your usual area. Inside Belgium, the reasons flip: privacy on public Wi-Fi and a detour around The Pirate Bay and other torrent portals that Belgian ISPs block under court orders won by the Belgian Anti-Piracy Federation.

The top three at a glance

All three accept crypto; PayPal is available at Surfshark and FastestVPN but not CitadelVPN. On renewals, the three services in the table differ: only CitadelVPN bills one-off payments without auto-renewal, while Surfshark and FastestVPN renew automatically and do not show the renewal price.

Why TorGuard, IVPN and Mullvad sit where they do

Network size carries 40% of the page score, together with streaming claims. That lifts TorGuard to fourth place here (network sub-score 8.3) even though its privacy mark of 2.3 leaves it 27th overall. IVPN goes the other way: privacy at 9.0 gives it the second-highest overall score among the 61 (5.77), yet its network sub-score of 2.5 leaves it only sixth here. Mullvad lands seventh under the same logic. If logging is what you watch, read the privacy sub-score rather than the page order: IVPN at 9.0 and Mullvad at 6.9 both rate higher on privacy than Surfshark (4.4) and FastestVPN (5.7).

Belgian apps: claims are not tests

The ranking counts provider claims for four services: Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video, plus the BBC iPlayer. VRT MAX, RTBF Auvio and Belgian banks are not tracked here, so no provider earns credit for them either way. Nothing on this page proves your home app will open. Treat the refund window as the real test: install the app, play a show, try the bank login. A dedicated IP, sold by 14 of the 61, keeps the same Belgian address on every session, which means fewer new-location alerts at the bank.

Torrents and the red flags

A Belgian exit server does not override the provider's P2P terms. Sixteen services allow torrenting, three partly, three forbid it, and 39 do not say; the page on how VPN services treat torrenting sorts this out. Eight providers carry a red flag here, six for logging the IP you connect from and two for a public security incident; because of that flag their overall score cannot go above 6.0. Kill switches are common (43 of 61), and 25 of the 61 offer obfuscation, the stealth mode that helps on networks blocking ordinary VPN traffic.

What the money terms look like across the list

Thirty of the 61 renew automatically by default, so set a calendar reminder before the term ends.

FAQ

Where to start

Short trip or long expat stay: take the top of the table, buy the cheapest term, and test VRT MAX, Auvio and your bank inside the refund window. If a clean logging story weighs more than network size for you, note that IVPN and Mullvad rate higher on privacy than Surfshark and FastestVPN while running smaller networks. When a Benelux exit location will do just as well, the VPNs with Dutch servers list widens your choice next door.
