Thailand VPN: Which Providers Have Thai Servers and Which Keep Logs

Why people want a Thai server

Two separate tasks hide behind one search. A Thai abroad wants an exit address that geolocates to Thailand so banking apps, TrueID, AIS Play and Thai PBS stop treating them like a stranger. A visitor or expat in Bangkok wants the opposite direction: an encrypted tunnel out of the country so a shared condo router or hotel network sees nothing, and ISP-level blocks on gambling, adult sites or content critical of the government stop mattering.

Surfshark, TorGuard and Mullvad side by side

Beyond the table, Surfshark runs RAM-only servers and offers a NoBorders obfuscation mode, with WireGuard, OpenVPN and IKEv2 among its protocols. Yet its privacy record is weaker: connection data sits in its logs for 15 minutes, and the Netherlands is a Nine Eyes country. Mullvad is the opposite bet: cash by mail, crypto with a 10% discount, no email, no auto-renewal.

Why TorGuard ranks second here

The page score puts 40% of the weight on network size and features, and TorGuard's fleet plus its Shadowsocks-based stealth protocol and V2Ray options earn it second place on a page where it sits 27th overall. What drags it down: US jurisdiction, zero audits, and a 7-day refund for first-time customers that does not cover crypto or gift card payments, nor dedicated, residential and streaming IPs.

Seven services that log your connection IP

The red flag for storing connection IPs applies to seven names: Le VPN, FlyVPN, VPN Jantit, 7VPN, BullVPN, VPN4Games and Super Free VPN, each of which admits the practice in its own policy. Urban VPN carries a separate red flag for a public security incident. BullVPN matters most for Thai buyers: it takes TrueWallet, ShopeePay and Thai QR mobile banking, and its policy also stores connect and disconnect times.

Cheap plans, free plans and the browser shortcut

The cheapest paid Thai server costs €0.85 a month (Solo VPN); the median sits at €2.86. Eighteen of the 35 offer a free tier, sorted separately on our free Thailand VPN page. Eleven ship browser extensions, one more partly. An extension reroutes browser traffic only: your banking app, games and anything outside the tab still exits from your own address.

Bangkok hardware or a relabelled IP

Only four of the 35 disclose anything about virtual locations. SwizzVPN and JamboVPN say all theirs are physical; VPN – Super Unlimited Proxy and FlowVPN admit virtual ones. The other 31 say nothing, which matters because a Thai address handed out from a Singapore rack can fail a service that checks latency or IP registry data. Practical move: pick a paid provider, test your target app within the refund window (21 of 35 publish one), and walk away if the address does not pass.

Thai law and what is blocked

Thailand does not punish VPN use itself. Under the Computer Crime Act it is the online activity that gets judged, so a tunnel changes nothing about the legality of what you do. Freedom House rates the country Not Free, 39 out of 100, in its Freedom on the Net 2025 edition for Thailand, and Thai ISPs block gambling, adult content and material critical of the monarchy or government.

FAQ

Which one to pick

Surfshark for the biggest network and a 30-day refund, Mullvad for anonymous sign-up and stronger privacy, TorGuard for stealth or residential IPs if you can live with a US company. Servers in neighbouring countries sit on our Asia and Oceania list.
