Getting a Philippine IP: VPNs With Servers in the Philippines Compared

Who actually needs a Philippine exit

Three very different groups search for this. Overseas workers and expats hit the problem when a banking app, e-wallet or government portal demands extra checks because it sees a foreign address; an exit IP that geolocates to the Philippines often helps, since that address is what these apps check. Mobile gamers care about route length rather than content: a nearby exit shortens the path to Asian game servers, but only when the route beats your own connection. The third group sits inside the country, on café, mall and airport Wi-Fi, and wants an encrypted tunnel between the phone and the hotspot so the hotspot owner and the ISP see a connection to the VPN server instead of the sites you open.

The top three side by side

Where each one falls short

All three support WireGuard and have commissioned a no-logs audit, which puts them ahead of most of the list. Surfshark loses privacy points for holding connection data for 15 minutes after each session, for the Nine Eyes jurisdiction and for requiring an email. FastestVPN publishes neither a security audit nor a stealth mode, so its security sub-index sits at 2.5 and its censorship bypass at zero. Mullvad scores the highest privacy sub-index of the three (6.9), but covers only 50 countries, charges a flat €5 with no long-plan discount, and has no live chat.

Why Mullvad is third here but higher overall

FastestVPN's network sub-index is 7.6 against Mullvad's 4.4, and with network at 40% of the page score this puts FastestVPN ahead even though Mullvad's overall score is better (4.78 against 4.67). If privacy drives your decision, trust the overall column instead of the page order.

A real server or a map label

Twenty-six of the 29 providers never say whether their Philippine location is physical or virtual. TunnelBear and JamboVPN confirm actual hardware in the country, three brands (FlyVPN, JamboVPN, FlowVPN) claim to run their own servers and Mullvad uses a mix of owned and rented ones; the rest stay silent. A "Philippines" exit sometimes just lives in a nearby data centre, and you notice only when the ping reads like Singapore. Verify it yourself: connect, look up the exit IP in a geolocation service, compare latency against a Singapore exit. If the two look identical, the nearby hub is the practical alternative, and the Singapore server list offers far more choice.

Free apps and their problems

Fifteen of the 29 run a free tier, and this is where the list concentrates its red flags. Five services, free ones like Super Free VPN included, are marked for storing the IP you connect from. Urban VPN carries a public incident on its record: in December 2025 its browser extension was reported to collect users' AI chat conversations, and it still ranks 16th here. Ads in free plans are confirmed for three services. A high Google position for "free philippines vpn" tells you nothing about any of this.

The full list in numbers

Half the list has auto-renewal switched on by default, and the €0.71 rate exists only behind a 24-month prepayment, so read the terms before paying.

FAQ

Which Philippines VPN to choose

Surfshark for the widest network and unlimited devices. FastestVPN for the lowest price, if committing two years fits your budget. Mullvad if anonymity outranks reach. Whoever you pick, spend the refund period checking that the Philippine app you actually care about accepts the new address.
