49 Reddit and forum threads mention VeePN (we keep titles and search snippets only).
Ratings for VeePN vary a lot by platform. On Trustpilot the service holds up well, on Google Play it sits in the middle, while collected reviews in the App Store are mostly negative: 210 out of 316 gave it one or two stars. The rating shown on the App Store itself is noticeably higher, 4.47 from 5720 ratings, since it also counts ratings left without any text.
The main complaint: money and subscriptions
By our rough keyword count, about half of the negative reviews in the App Store and 17 of 24 on Trustpilot are about payments. The stories repeat: a charge right after the trial starts, auto-renewal of a yearly or two-year plan without a reminder, and refusals to refund after renewal. Many are annoyed that canceling a subscription requires submitting a request, and for App Store purchases support tells them to dispute the charge through Apple. Connection problems and the paywall at launch
The second theme in the App Store, about a third of the negative reviews, concerns connections: the app fails to connect or does not work in China. On Google Play people more often write something else: they find the app expecting it to be free, and on launch they see a chain of screens with plan choices. This accounts for about a quarter of the bad reviews, roughly a third of them in Arabic.
How the service responds
On Trustpilot the company replied to 23 of the 24 negative reviews, and on Google Play to 416 of 435. In the App Store there are no replies to the collected complaints. The volume of reviews keeps growing: we collected 305 for September 2026, against 8 a year earlier, and the average rating over recent months has dropped from 4.27 in June to 3.2 in October.
