What VeePN is missing

VeePN scores 3.87 out of 10 and ranks 48th. Its strengths are clear: apps for almost every device, including routers, TVs and consoles, 148 countries, and a Panama jurisdiction outside the surveillance alliances. The weak spot is proof. Its no-logs policy has not been verified by an independent audit, and there are no named security audits either. The service does not say whether it has WireGuard, DNS leak protection or obfuscation, so it scores 0 for censorship bypass. VeePN does not publish the renewal price after the first 16 or 28 months. The alternatives below close one of these gaps.

A verified no-logs policy

Surfshark (5.30) and PureVPN (5.30) cost from €2.14 and €1.85 per month. Both have had their no-logs policy audited: Surfshark by Deloitte, PureVPN by KPMG. Both claim obfuscation: PureVPN uses obfuscated servers, Surfshark has a NoBorders mode. Surfshark adds RAM-only servers and unlimited devices. One downside of Surfshark for those who picked VeePN because of Panama: the Netherlands is part of the 9 Eyes. PureVPN sits outside the alliances. Detailed comparisons: Surfshark vs VeePN and VeePN vs PureVPN.

Private Internet Access (5.13) is cheaper than VeePN, from €1.63, and has also passed Deloitte audits. The catch is its US jurisdiction, a 5 Eyes country. It renews at the same price: $73.71 every three years.

The same price and a clear renewal

CyberGhost VPN (4.18) costs the same €1.71 per month, runs from Romania outside the alliances, and states upfront the price after the first 26 months: $51.74 per year. Comparison: CyberGhost VPN vs VeePN.

If auto-renewal annoys you, check out JamboVPN (3.10) with a one-time payment and no auto-renewal by default, and Trust.Zone (3.97), where repeat charges are enabled only by choice.
