Norton VPN user reviews: what customers report

3,400 reviews of Norton VPN collected from Trustpilot, App Store and Google Play. Most come from App Store: 3.80 of 5 after smoothing. Reviews never change our score.

Ratings by source

Smoothed: a source’s average across all VPNs counts as 50 extra reviews, so a few five-star reviews cannot outrank thousands.

Store ratings and fresh reviews tell different stories

The App Store shows Norton VPN at 4.45 from 120,795 ratings, Google Play shows 4.4. These scores built up over years. Among 51 App Store reviews from the last 90 days, the average rating is 1.71, and 39 of them gave one or two stars. The high Trustpilot score says almost nothing about the VPN: the profile covers all Norton products, and the VPN is mentioned in only 2 of the 200 collected reviews.

The main complaint: sign-in and connection after updates

Out of 39 recent negative App Store reviews, 28 describe the same thing: the app fails to connect, drops the connection, or blocks access to the account. 11 authors directly link the breakdown to an update. The scenarios repeat: the app signs the user out and rejects the login code, the VPN toggle disappears from the menu, the selected country switches to a different one on its own. Some users write that only deleting and reinstalling the app helps. The Apple TV and Google TV versions get separate criticism: on a TV you cannot pick a specific server, and sign-in via QR code ends with an error. If you see a similar picture, start with the page Norton VPN won't connect.

Money and subscription

In Google Play, roughly every fifth negative review concerns charges: right after the trial period a full year was charged, or the trial period could not be canceled. Three users from France write in the App Store that an annual license bought on sale was revoked without explanation. Norton refunds annual payments and renewals within 60 days, see more in the refund policy.

In Google Play, the company replied to 283 of 316 negative reviews; there are no replies in the App Store. We estimated the topic shares roughly, by keywords.
