X-VPN not working? Common causes and what to check

We do not test connections ourselves, so everything below is compiled from what X-VPN publishes about its apps, protocols and support. The weak point is clear in advance: we rate the service 1.9 out of 10 for bypassing blocks. The only bypass tool it lists is an obfuscation mode, and the company does not name the countries where it is supposed to work.

Protocols and obfuscation

The app offers three options: WireGuard, OpenVPN and the company's own Everest protocol. If the tunnel fails to connect or keeps dropping, switch to a different protocol and a different server. When the network itself (an office, a hotel, a mobile operator) blocks VPN traffic, turn on obfuscation or pick a server from the obfuscated list. The service does not mention VLESS, Trojan, Shadowsocks or Hysteria2, so in heavily filtered networks X-VPN documents no fallback beyond obfuscation.

Limits that look like a malfunction

The free version gives you 26 regions, mainly the UK, Canada, Australia and 13 US cities, while most locations and features are only available in Premium. The country you need may simply be missing from the free list. A subscription covers 5 devices, and the service's terms allow no more than 3 on one platform. For countries on the export control list, the terms restrict access to the service.

When the tunnel drops, the kill switch cuts off the entire internet, and from the outside it looks like a network failure. Reconnect before you disable the protection.

The service does not say whether it has a server status page, so the quickest way to check for a widespread outage is to ask in the chat.
