The US App Store gives X-VPN 4.66 based on 622,928 ratings, but the 2,487 written reviews we collected from there average 3.55. We have 4,364 reviews in total from three platforms, and 1,172 of them are one or two stars. We counted topics approximately, by keywords.
App Store: dropped connections and free minutes
About 29% of negative App Store reviews are about the connection. Reviewers say the app disconnects every 5 to 10 minutes, stops working after an update, or fails to connect to any server. Another quarter or so are about the free version: a session without a subscription keeps getting shorter, and you can reconnect only after watching an ad, sometimes a minute long. The company has not replied to any of the 843 negative App Store reviews. What to check on your side is covered on the page if X-VPN won't connect.
Trustpilot: Premium switched off
Trustpilot has 41 negative reviews, and roughly 16 of them describe the same scenario: X-VPN deactivates a paid Premium plan a few weeks or months after purchase. According to the reviewers, support points to logging in on more than 10 devices, account sharing, or a purchase at a regional price. The terms of service do indeed prohibit sharing or reselling an account. Another group of complaints concerns refunds, promised "within 10 business days", that never arrived. Why the average is rising
Since April 2026, the monthly average has risen from 3.06 to 4.28 in October. The growth came from Google Play: over 90 days it had 856 reviews averaging 4.33, and most of them are one or two words. The App Store gave 276 reviews over the same 90 days, averaging 3.67.
