Malwarebytes Privacy VPN alternatives: similar VPNs ranked by our score

Malwarebytes Privacy VPN scores 3.97 out of 10 and sits in 43rd place in the overall ranking. Among VPNs bundled with antivirus packages it comes first, so six of the seven services on this list scored lower. Only AzireVPN ranks higher, and that is no accident: the Swedish service is also owned by Malwarebytes, and Privacy VPN's servers run on its infrastructure.

AzireVPN: the same engine without an American account

AzireVPN scores 4.13, mostly for privacy. Sign-up works with an account number and no email, while Malwarebytes requires an email. The jurisdiction differs: Sweden and 14 Eyes instead of the US and 5 Eyes. You can take a month for 5 euros, while Malwarebytes only sells a year for 39.99 euros. Torrenting is allowed on all servers, and port forwarding is included in the plan. There is one catch: you can ask for a refund only within 7 days, while Malwarebytes gives 60 days.

McAfee VPN: cheap entry, expensive renewal

McAfee starts at 2.15 euros per month for one device, but the first year at 29.99 dollars renews at 89.99, three times as much. The charge comes 30 days before the term ends, so you need to cancel in advance. Check the McAfee pricing and renewal page before you buy. On the plus side: 24/7 support chat and split tunneling.

The other bundles

AVG, Webroot, Intego, iolo and Trend Micro score between 2.81 and 1.11, and all are based in the US. If you are leaving over jurisdiction or the mandatory email, they do not solve that problem. Neither Malwarebytes nor these services offer a Linux app. The full list of antivirus VPNs is in the bundle ranking.
