Turbo VPN user reviews: what customers report

Opinions on Turbo VPN are polarized: in every source, between 86 and 92% of ratings are either one or five stars. The app stores show high ratings, 4.7 on Google Play and 4.73 on the US App Store, but among the 2,093 App Store reviews we collected, 702 are negative, roughly a third.

Connection and ads

We counted topics roughly, using keywords in English, Arabic, German, Italian and Dutch. On the App Store, 36% of negative reviews concern the connection: the app takes a long time to connect, drops the link, or stops working after payment has already gone through. On Google Play, connection issues account for 29% of complaints, and another 21% concern ads. Free-version users write about videos on startup that cannot be closed right away, and about ads between connection attempts.

Charges and cancellation

Trustpilot has only 28 negative reviews, but 16 of them are about money: auto-renewal, trouble cancelling, and refusal to refund payment. Reviewers say the subscription could only be cancelled through support or on the device where it was purchased. The service itself instructs users to turn off renewal on the platform where the subscription was bought, at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period. Company replies and recent ratings

On Google Play, the company replied to 136 of 233 negative reviews, on Trustpilot to 2 of 28, and on the App Store to none of the 702. Recent Google Play reviews are noticeably more positive: the last 90 days brought 858 ratings averaging 4.6. When positive reviews name a reason, it is most often speed.
