VPN Unlimited not working? Common causes and what to check

5 things to check, built from what VPN Unlimited (KeepSolid) publishes about its apps, protocols and support. We do not test connections ourselves.

What to check

Check the provider’s status page for an outage (keepsolid.statuspage.io).

Switch protocol in the app: VPN Unlimited (KeepSolid) lists WireGuard, OpenVPN, IKEv2, Own protocol.

If the network blocks VPNs, turn on obfuscation (KeepSolid Wise).

Contact support: live chat, Telegram, email.

If the website is blocked too, use the mirror or channel (Telegram bot).

Start with the KeepSolid status page (keepsolid.statuspage.io). If there is an outage there, no amount of tweaking your settings will help; all you can do is wait. If everything shows green, the cause is almost always on your side or in the network you are connecting through.

Switch protocol and server

The app offers WireGuard, OpenVPN and IKEv2. The website mentions six protocols but never publishes the full list. When the connection hangs while connecting, switch protocols and try a different server. For torrents, only servers marked P2P will work; such traffic will not pass on the others. The service makes no promises about Netflix or other streaming platforms: there are 10 servers for streaming, but it does not say which services work through them.

If your VPN is being blocked

On networks where VPN traffic is cut off by DPI, turn on KeepSolid Wise. This is obfuscation layered over OpenVPN or IKEv2. If even that fails, check VPNs with traffic obfuscation featuring protocols like VLESS and Shadowsocks: VPN Unlimited does not list these in its description. If the website itself is unreachable, the Telegram bot remains your point of contact.

Pitfalls on mobile

A kill switch is available only on Windows and macOS. iOS and Android have none built in: after a drop, traffic will quietly bypass the VPN. Split tunneling exists only on Android. The service does not state how many devices the standard plan covers, yet it sells an upgrade to an unlimited number: if a new device gets refused, check the limit in your account.

Who to contact if nothing helps

The website promises a 24/7 chat, but the TechRadar reviewer got only an email form. There are tickets, a Telegram bot and a help section. In September and October 2026, the average rating of recent reviews fell to roughly 1.2 out of 5; see the details in VPN Unlimited reviews.
