VPN Unlimited is released by KeepSolid Inc., which is also listed as the parent company. The service does not name any intermediaries or a holding above it: the owner and the developer are one and the same.

The company and the people

According to the official KeepSolid history, the company was founded in 2013 under the name Simplex Solutions and later renamed. A trace of the old name remains in the app's package name on Google Play. The co-founder and CEO is Vasyl Ivanov. Legally, the company is registered in the US, at office 1402-419 on 5th Avenue in New York. The team, however, is mostly based in Ukraine: in February 2022, KeepSolid wrote that the majority of its employees live there.

Other brands in the group

Besides VPN Unlimited, KeepSolid owns the MonoDefense package, which includes the Passwarden password manager, the simplified KeepSolid VPN Lite app, and White Label VPN for companies that sell a VPN under their own name. It also has its own token, KS Coins: you can pay for a subscription with them, and the yearly plan comes with 2500 coins as a gift. In our catalog the company has two listings, the second being KeepSolid (VPN Unlimited) with a rating of 3.38.

Jurisdiction

The US is part of the 5 Eyes alliance, and the service gets zero points for jurisdiction in our privacy score. The policy states outright that data is handed over in response to a subpoena, a court order or another lawful request. Account data is kept for as long as the account exists, and records kept for legal purposes are stored for 7 years. The policy does not name a data protection officer under the GDPR. Other services with the same jurisdiction are collected in our roundup of VPNs from the US.
