VPN Unlimited alternatives: similar VPNs ranked by our score

VPN Unlimited scores 3.59 out of 10. Its apps cover five operating systems, TVs, routers and browsers, and the service advertises 24/7 support. What drags it down is security, at 1.1 points: the kill switch is built into Windows and macOS only, it is missing on iOS and Android, and the service names no external audits. Nobody has independently verified its no-logs policy, and the company KeepSolid Inc. operates from the US, a 5 Eyes alliance country. It makes sense to pick a replacement based on those gaps.

A verified no-logs policy

PureVPN (5.30) and ExpressVPN (4.77) are registered in the British Virgin Islands, both have a kill switch and a no-logs policy audit by KPMG. PureVPN is also cheaper: from €1.85 per month versus €3.87 for VPN Unlimited. ExpressVPN's lowest price is €2.57, but after the first 28 months the subscription renews at $99.95 per year or more. Details in the ExpressVPN vs VPN Unlimited comparison.

CactusVPN (4.17) costs from €3.41, has passed a Securitum audit with a public report, and promises not to raise the price upon renewal while the subscription is active.

If price matters most

Namecheap's FastVPN is the cheapest on the list, from €0.86 per month. The first year costs $12, then renewal runs $34.56. The company is American too, there is no audit, and its overall score of 3.13 is below VPN Unlimited's.

VPN Unlimited has no free plan. Malloc VPN (4.03) and StelsVPN (3.81) do, but StelsVPN does not disclose the limits of its free version.

Who will not work as a replacement

KeepSolid (VPN Unlimited) in tenth place comes from the same KeepSolid Inc. and is the same service listed on a separate card. Witopia (2.70) and VPN.ac (2.64) are rated below the original service, and none of them has an independent audit.
