Urban VPN has a single paid plan, Premium, for 1, 6 or 12 months. Prices on the plans page are listed in dollars only: $12.99 per month, $41.88 for six months ($6.98 per month) and $59.40 for a year ($4.95 per month). There is no two-year plan, no lifetime access and no family plan.
Where the 68% discount comes from
Discounts are calculated from the monthly price of $12.99: 47% for six months and 68% for a year, while the page's description for search engines says 72%. The monthly price itself is high, which makes the discount look large. Annual Premium works out at roughly €4.26 per month, while the median across our main ranking is €3.13. For that money you get a service with a final score of 2.44 out of 10.
What you pay for
The free version works in browser extensions, on Windows and Android. Premium adds apps for macOS and iOS, more countries, WireGuard, Double VPN, 65 servers at 10 Gbit/s, support tickets and split tunneling on Android. One subscription covers 8 devices at the same time. If you only need a VPN in the browser on a laptop, the free version is usually enough, but you pay for it with data about the sites you visit.
What is unknown about renewal
The subscription renews automatically, and Urban VPN does not publish the renewal price for any term. That is why the annual plan has a dash in our 2-year and 3-year cost table. Payment goes through the App Store, Google Play or Paddle on the site; you cannot pay in cash, and the service says nothing about cryptocurrency.
