Private Internet Access coupons: the built-in discount, bonus months and renewal terms

Private Internet Access publishes no promo code on its own site in what we read, so we list none. We never invent codes or copy them from coupon sites; below are the official prices.

There is no PIA promo code in the data VPNRadarLab collected on 15 October 2026, so this page lists none. The discount is applied automatically on the order screen: the deepest cut, 84%, sits on the 3 Years + 3 Months plan, measured against the $11.95 monthly list price, and the plan renews at the same total, so the jump at renewal is small.

Is there a PIA promo code that works

None appeared in what was gathered from PIA's own pages, and VPNRadarLab does not copy codes from coupon sites. The reduced price shows for every visitor, with no field to fill in. Coupon pages repeat the same "exclusive" PIA offer because the provider runs an affiliate programme that pays publishers and coupon sites for each buyer they send; the buyer gets nothing extra out of it. When the site was checked, a Halloween sale banner was running, but it did not display a percentage, so the checkout screen is the only number to trust. The current figure with any running sale is visible on PIA's order page.

Where the 84% comes from

The baseline is the $11.95 monthly list price. Multiplied across the 39 months of the longest plan (36 paid months plus 3 bonus months), that rate comes to $466.05, against $73.71 prepaid. Applied to the yearly plan, the same arithmetic gives about 67% off, $3.99 a month against $11.95, though the site prints no badge for that one. A 2-year term is mentioned on PIA's pages without a price shown, so none is quoted here. Full totals for every term: the PIA pricing breakdown.

Term First term total Per month Renews at
3 Years + 3 Months $73.71 $1.89 $73.71 per 3 years
1 Year $47.88 $3.99 $47.88 per year
1 Month $11.95 $11.95 $11.95 per month

What the second term costs

PIA renews at the same total you first paid: $73.71 every 3 years, $47.88 yearly, $11.95 monthly. One nuance on the long plan: the bonus months do not repeat, so the renewal covers 36 months for the same $73.71, which works out at roughly $2.05 a month instead of $1.89. That is a step-up of only x1.08, small enough that the VPNRadarLab price-and-terms sub-index (5.57 of 10) applies no renewal penalty here; the biggest losses in that sub-index come from the lack of a free plan and a free trial. Auto-renewal is on by default for every term. Switch it off in the account (subscriptions), or in the app store settings if you subscribed through a phone. The 30-day money-back guarantee applies from each renewal as well as from the initial purchase; the details are in the PIA refund guide.

Student, referral, crypto and gift-card offers

Programme What the data shows What it means for the buyer
Student discount Not in the data collected No price to quote
Referral Not in the data collected Treat any reward as unconfirmed
Affiliate Yes Pays the site that sent you, not you
Crypto (BitPay) Accepted, no discount Same price as with a card
Gift cards Accepted as payment Refund goes through the seller or processor

Checkout also offers two add-ons, a dedicated IP and an antivirus package (Windows). Their prices were not shown, but adding either raises the total above the plan price, so skipping them keeps the bill at the plan figure.

PIA discount questions

Does PIA have a student discount?

It is not in the data VPNRadarLab collected. Check the terms on PIA's own site before paying if a student deal matters.

Is there a free trial?

No free trial and no free plan. The 30-day money-back guarantee stands in for both: pay, test, and request your money back within the window. Verification is required, and app-store or gift-card purchases are refunded through the store or processor rather than PIA.

Can I get a refund and sign up again at the new price?

No. A new account opened within 3 months of a refund does not qualify for another, so the refund-and-rebuy trick fails.

Does paying in crypto lower the price?

No. Crypto goes through BitPay at the same price as a card, PayPal or Amazon Payments.

PIA deals at a glance

No published code exists, and none is needed, because the reduction is already on the order page. The biggest cut, 84%, is on the 3 Years + 3 Months plan: $73.71 prepaid, $1.89 a month, counting 3 bonus months against the $11.95 list price. Every plan renews at the same total, with the 3-year term rising only to about $2.05 a month after the bonus months drop away. Student and referral offers are absent from the collected data, crypto earns no extra cut, add-ons raise the checkout total, and the 30-day money-back guarantee, which covers renewals too, is the closest thing to a trial.
