Who owns Bitdefender VPN? Company, jurisdiction and related brands

Bitdefender VPN is made by the company Bitdefender, registered as BITDEFENDER S.R.L. Its head office is in Bucharest, in the Orhideea Towers complex. It processes data under GDPR, and a data protection officer handles related questions: dpo@bitdefender.com. Bitdefender subsidiaries in other countries may, under the policy, pass some personal data to the parent company in Romania.

Romanian jurisdiction

Romania is part of the EU and does not belong to the 5/9/14 Eyes alliances. Government requests are handled under Romanian and European law. Whose infrastructure

Bitdefender has no VPN servers of its own. The network is run by IPVanish, which the policy names as a data processor acting on Bitdefender's instructions and solely for VPN operation. IPVanish is based in the US and owned by the holding company Ziff Davis. IP addresses, connection tokens, and hashed identifiers of the user and device pass through it. Bitdefender, per its policy, transfers data outside the EU only to countries where protection is deemed adequate, or under standard EU contractual clauses. Related brands

The VPN is sold separately as Premium VPN and comes with the Premium Security and Ultimate Security packages. Ultimate Security adds digital identity protection on top of it. All home products share one account, Bitdefender Central.

Is Bitdefender VPN connected to IPVanish?

Yes. IPVanish processes VPN data on Bitdefender's behalf, although the two brands belong to different companies.
