BearVPN not working? What to check on free and Premium

4 things to check, built from what BearVPN publishes about its apps, protocols and support. We do not test connections ourselves.

What to check

Check the provider’s status page for an outage (no).

If the network blocks VPNs, turn on obfuscation (obfuscation claim).

Contact support: live chat, Telegram, email.

If the website is blocked too, use the mirror or channel (Telegram channel).

BearVPN has no server status page, and the protocols are not named anywhere. You cannot find out whether this is an outage affecting everyone, or switch to another protocol using the service's instructions. Three checks remain: plan limits, network blocking, and support. We do not test the connections ourselves.

Plan limits

The free version works on Android and iOS only. The server there is selected automatically, and the service calls the speed "standard". If the connection is slow or fails to establish, you cannot change the server manually on the free plan: server selection, apps for Windows and macOS, ad-free use, and priority support are available in Premium only. There are no apps for Linux or routers on any plan. Premium connects up to 10 devices at the same time.

A network or country blocking the VPN

In its FAQ, BearVPN itself writes about VPN restrictions in Russia, Turkey, Iran, and the UAE. The service claims traffic obfuscation, but does not specify which protocol it runs on or where to enable it. If bearvpn.com is also unavailable, look for news and links in the service's Telegram channel. When obfuscation does not help, see VPNs with obfuscation that name their protocols.

Who to contact

Chat via Crisp (the service promises 24/7 support), email, Telegram, and Discord. Help articles are on bearvpn.crisp.help, video guides on YouTube and TikTok. In your message, state your plan, device, and the country you are connecting from.

How to tell whether the servers are down?

Only through support or the Telegram channel. Services with status pages are collected in a separate list. The full BearVPN review explains its score of 3.62 out of 10.
