Panda VPN is made by the Spanish company Panda Security, S.L.U. from Bilbao. Since June 2020, it has been fully owned by the American WatchGuard Technologies.

From Bilbao to Seattle

WatchGuard, based in Seattle, signed the agreement to buy Panda in March 2020, and the deal closed on 2 June. In 2022, the investment fund Vector Capital became the majority owner of WatchGuard itself. So the legal developer of the VPN is a Spanish company, and the final owner is an American group best known for network security for businesses.

Panda Dome and other brands

The VPN here is part of the Panda Dome antivirus lineup. In the Essential, Advanced and Complete plans it is limited to 150 MB per day, and only Dome Premium and a separate VPN Premium subscription work without a limit. The group's second brand, WatchGuard, sells its security products to companies. Jurisdiction and data

The company is registered in Spain, and Spain is part of the 14 Eyes alliance. The privacy policy says that data may be shared with companies in the WatchGuard group, resellers and contractors, and may be disclosed to authorities upon lawful requests. Questions about personal data go to the Data Protection Officer at panda.dpo@watchguard.com. Other countries where VPNs are registered are listed on the jurisdictions page.

Is it the same service as PandaVPN?

No. PandaVPN from pandavpn.com has no connection to Panda Security, although search results often confuse the two.
