It is basically useless in the environment of mainland China. After connecting to the server, it will soon be recognized by GFW and slowed down by QoS.

All 135 reviews we collected came from the App Store and Google Play; we found no NymVPN reviews on Trustpilot. The average ratings in both stores are around 3.5 out of 5, and behind that number sit two groups that barely overlap. One group gives five stars for the idea: login without email using a 24-word phrase, payment in cryptocurrency, and a mixnet that reviewers compare to Tor. The other gives one star because the app will not connect.
What drags the rating down
The main complaint is stability. Users report that the node search hangs, the connection drops without a notification and does not recover on its own, and sometimes the icon shows "connected" even though no traffic is flowing. Anonymous mode through the mixnet is predictably slow, and for some users connecting takes about a minute. A second group of complaints comes from countries with heavy censorship: according to one user, connections in China are quickly detected and throttled, and there are reports from Iran and the UAE. How the company responds
On Google Play, the developer replied to 30 of 34 negative reviews; in the App Store, to none of the 12. Several people praise the support team for quick replies, while others complain that they never received a refund or an answer to their email. Some of the one-star ratings at the end of 2025 were left because the app requires payment.
Is there any progress
