VPN Proxy Master is published by SECUREGUARD GROUP PTE. LTD., a private company registered in Singapore with an office at 61 Robinson Road. The service names this same company as its parent, and no other owners are listed on the website. Singapore is not part of the 5/9/14 Eyes alliances.

What the service's own documents show

The privacy policy names a data protection officer, whose email uses the secureguardpro.com domain. SoftMany is listed there as a partner. The GDPR section links to a Gameloft form: it looks like the text was copied from someone else's policy and never cleaned up. The company promises to comply with government requests to the extent the law requires. The same legal entity stands behind a separate app, VPN Proxy Master - Safer Vpn, on Google Play, with the same plans and address.

What independent researchers found

In 2025, Tech Transparency Project reviewed free VPNs from the App Store. VPN Proxy Master ranked 12th there, and TTP placed it in a network of companies that also publishes Turbo VPN. The owner of that network was acquired in 2019 by the Chinese company Qihoo 360, and in June 2020 the US Department of Commerce added Qihoo 360 to its sanctions list. SECUREGUARD is not mentioned in the report, so TTP showed no direct connection to that legal entity. One more detail: the privacy policy of another app, VPN Bucks, contains passages identical to the VPN Proxy Master policy. The ownership chain is described in detail on the page about the Turbo VPN owner.

What to make of it

On paper, the jurisdiction is Singapore. If the ultimate owner matters to you, keep TTP's findings in mind: the service itself does not mention them and does not publish audits.
