A month costs three times the market rate
TorGuard has four plans, and in our data only the monthly price is visible for all of them: Standard $10.99, Pro $14.29, Ultimate (Stealth) $19.99 and Business $32.99 per user. The cheapest entry point, about €9.45 per month, is three times higher than the market median of €3.13. According to the service's terms, there are also 3, 6 and 12 month periods, but their prices did not show up when we collected the data, so we cannot say whether they cost less per month. A subscription renews for the same period and at the same price until it is cancelled, so a year on Standard comes to about €113. What you pay for on the higher plans
The difference between plans comes down to features that are simply locked on the lower ones. Standard gives you 8 devices at once. Pro adds streaming and one dedicated IP, and the device count goes up to 12. Stealth obfuscation through Shadowsocks and Stunnel is only available on Ultimate, along with 16 devices. For a country or network where VPNs are blocked, that means $19.99 per month, and in that case it makes sense to compare the price with other VPNs with obfuscation. Business at $32.99 is for teams: it includes a control panel for users and IP addresses.
Add-ons and payment methods
On top of the plans, the service sells residential and streaming IPs and extra dedicated addresses. Their prices are not shown on the website, so the final amount only becomes visible in the cart. The PrivateMail email service, owned by the same company, costs $3.58 per month. Prices are displayed in dollars only. You can also pay with cryptocurrency or a gift card, but such payments, like dedicated and residential IPs, are not covered by the 7-day refund.
