DuneVPN not working? Common causes and what to check

Start by checking your device. DuneVPN only has an Android app from Google Play; the versions for Windows, macOS, iOS, TVs and routers on the site are marked as "coming soon". If you are looking for a client for your computer or iPhone, there isn't one yet.
The country you need is missing from the list
The free plan has a limited set of locations, and premium servers plus multi-device use are only available in Pro. If a server in the country you need is not visible or a second phone will not connect, the plan may be the reason. In total, the service claims more than 50 countries and 1000 servers, but the full list of countries is not published on the site.
The connection drops or fails to establish
By default, the app picks the protocol itself. If the connection keeps dropping, select WireGuard, OpenVPN or the service's own protocol manually. When the tunnel goes down, the kill switch cuts the internet entirely, so a "lost network" often means the VPN has failed. If a single app, such as a bank, refuses to work, exclude it through split tunneling. The latest update of the app in Google Play was released on October 11, 2026, so update first.
The network blocks VPN
For restricted networks, DuneVPN offers V2Ray VLESS over WebSocket and TLS. This option comes without Reality, and the service does not mention Shadowsocks, Trojan or Hysteria2, so its censorship bypass score is 1.9 out of 10. Where VPN traffic is cut by DPI, there are hardly any fallback options, and it makes sense to look at VPN with VLESS and Reality.
