17 Reddit and forum threads mention DuneVPN (we keep titles and search snippets only).
Where all those five-star ratings come from
Almost all the DuneVPN reviews we collected come from Google Play, and nearly all of them give five stars. They are spread unevenly. Of these, 37 arrived between February and April 2022, the first weeks after version 1.0 came out, and most of them are just two or three words: "super fast vpn", "Nice", "Cool". The next wave, 14 reviews, arrived in December 2025, and the texts there are longer, but they resemble each other and the store description: speed, security, one-tap connection. Over the last 90 days there have been no new reviews. On Trustpilot there are three, all dated 4 to 9 June 2026, and all five stars. With 5K+ installs on Google Play it has 104 ratings, so the 4.5 average rests on a small sample.
Two complaints and the replies to them
There are two negative reviews, both from 2022, and both about connection: the app kept returning a network error, and after an update it stopped working altogether. The developer replied to both complaints asking them to check again and update the app. Positive reviews get the same templated thank-you notes full of star emojis. What the reviews do not cover
There is one specific case: in 2023 a user in Saudi Arabia wrote that WhatsApp started working for them with DuneVPN. Nobody writes about the paid Dune Pro plan, charges, refunds, or email replies from support. There are no live discussions on Reddit or forums either: a search returns pages of dunevpn.com itself, its Google Play listing, and scam-checker sites.
