AirVPN not connecting: ports, protocols and Network Lock

Check the provider’s status page for an outage (live server status).
Switch protocol in the app: AirVPN lists WireGuard, OpenVPN.
If the network blocks VPNs, turn on obfuscation (SSH/SSL/Tor tunnels).
Try a manual configuration (OpenVPN/WireGuard configs (config generator implied); API).

We do not test connections ourselves and rely on what AirVPN publishes about its apps and servers. Most failures come down to three causes: the server is down, the network blocks regular VPN traffic, or the client is set up for a different network.
First rule out outages and limits
Open the AirVPN status page: it shows the state of every server in real time, and a downed node is easy to spot. Check how long your access lasts: plans are prepaid and do not renew automatically unless you set up a subscription. An account allows five simultaneous connections, so a sixth device will only connect after you disconnect one of the others. The Eddie client has Network Lock: while it is enabled and the tunnel is not up, all internet traffic is blocked, which can look like a fault.
If the network blocks VPN
OpenVPN runs on ports 80, 443 and 53 over TCP and UDP. On hotel Wi-Fi or an office network, start with OpenVPN on TCP 443: this port is blocked less often than the others. If that fails, enable an OpenVPN tunnel over SSH, SSL or Tor; every server supports it. AirVPN does not offer VLESS Reality, Trojan, Shadowsocks or Hysteria2, so it scores 2.9 out of 10 for censorship bypass on VPNRadarLab. On networks with strict filtering, keep a backup option from the list of VPNs with obfuscation.
AirVPN does not list its own iPhone app: on iOS you connect through the WireGuard or OpenVPN apps using configuration files provided by the service. If a file was created for a different port or protocol, generate a new one.
When to contact support
AirVPN has no chat, phone or Telegram; it offers tickets and email support in English, plus a community forum and FAQ. If the website is blocked, it can be reached through a mirror on the Tor network (.onion). In your message, include the protocol, port, server and the country you are connecting from.
