OllaVPN refund policy: how to ask for your money back

30 days, no questions asked, request by email

OllaVPN promises to refund Pro and Business plans within 30 days, no reason needed. You send the refund request by email to the billing address; no request form in the account dashboard is mentioned. There is a fair amount of money at stake: the low Pro price of $2.99 per month is only available when you pay for 24 months upfront, which comes to about $71.76 in a single payment. Write from the email address registered to your account and include your plan and the payment date, so your message doesn't go through an extra round of follow-up questions.

What the policy does not say

The refund terms are short, and the service does not publish many details. It is not stated whether money is refunded for the monthly plan, whether unused time is recalculated after 30 days, or whether the guarantee covers automatic renewals. The service also says nothing about how payments made in cryptocurrency are refunded, even though it accepts crypto alongside cards and PayPal. Purchases through the App Store and Google Play are not described in the policy either. The apps are not in those stores yet: on iOS it is an alpha build in TestFlight, on Android a beta APK, so payments are made on the website.

Test the service before paying

OllaVPN offers a free plan that requires no card, and there is no separate trial period. It limits you to one device and speeds of up to 10 Mbit/s, but that is enough to check that a connection works on your network before paying two years upfront.
