How to cancel Mysterium VPN and turn off auto-renewal

Mysterium VPN renews subscriptions automatically, for the same period and the same plan. The service does not describe a cancellation button in the account dashboard. The terms name one method: an email to help@mysteriumvpn.com.

How to send a cancellation request

Write from the address linked to your account; email is required at registration. In the message, state your plan (Basic, Plus or Pro) and your term, ask them to turn off auto-renewal and to confirm it by reply email. Keep the reply until the date the charge was due to go through.

If you bought the subscription in the App Store or Google Play, you need to cancel it in the store's subscription settings. Under the service's terms, refunds for such purchases also go through the store; an email to support will not help here.

How much you will be charged on renewal

The service does not publish the renewal price. The first two years on Basic cost €53.46, on Plus €61.71, on Pro €98.87, and the amount for the following 24 months is not stated anywhere. The monthly plan starts at €9.02 and renews at the same price. Whether the service warns you in advance about the charge, it does not say. So it is better to send the email one to two weeks before the end of the term and check that a confirmation has arrived.

Cancelling right after purchase

If you change your mind in the first days, cancelling is not enough: you also need a refund. Here the terms differ. The site promises 30 days, but the terms of use grant a full refund only within 7 days of the first purchase (14 days for the EU) and once per user.
