Who is behind the service

IVPN is run by IVPN Limited, a company registered in Gibraltar. According to the team page on the IVPN website, its founder and CEO Nick (Nicholas) Pestell owns 100% of the company. The service has been operating since 2009 and, by its own account, has had the same owner the entire time. IVPN Limited has no parent company or holding above it; in our data it is its own parent. That is rare on the VPN market: many well-known brands belong to large groups with a dozen services. You can compare it with others in the VPN owners catalog.

The 2023 name change

Until August 2023, the company was called Privatus Limited. In its blog, IVPN said the renaming was meant to align the company name with the product name, and separately stated that ownership, team, registration number, jurisdiction and address did not change. The address is the same: 5 Secretary's Lane, Gibraltar. If you come across Privatus Limited in older reports or contracts, it is the same company.

Who IVPN works with and what it does not have

IVPN does not have its own data centers: dedicated servers are rented from partners, including Datapacket, Flokinet and GleSYS. The service deliberately runs no affiliate program, so reviewers do not earn commissions from its sales. IVPN does not name a data protection officer: requests for access to your data go to sar@ivpn.net, and GDPR complaints are handled by the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority.

Does IVPN have related brands?

In our data, no. We found no other VPNs or products under the same owner; IVPN Limited only makes IVPN, with Standard, Plus and Pro Suite plans.
