VPN Gate pricing plans, renewal prices and real cost

VPN Gate sells nothing. There is a single plan, Free, with no expiry date, and the project's website promises the service will never become paid. There is no registration, and no card or email is needed. That is why the service does not state refund terms, a trial period, auto-renewal or payment methods: there is nothing to pay for here. For comparison, the median in our main ranking is €3.13 per month.

What is included in the free access

Traffic is unlimited, no device limit is named, all servers from the shared list are available, and there are no ads. Paid extras such as a dedicated IP, port forwarding or Double VPN do not exist, and they cannot be purchased. The app costs nothing either: the SoftEther VPN client for Windows is free and open source, macOS and iOS are covered by the built-in L2TP or OpenVPN client, and Android has its own app. Similar no-cost options are collected in our list of free VPNs.

The hidden price

Nobody pays money for VPN Gate, but there are costs. Volunteers run the servers, speed is not guaranteed, and a convenient node may disappear from the list tomorrow. The other part of the price concerns data: connection logs with the original IP are stored for at least three months and are handed over to the police and the court upon request.
