Why people look for a replacement

Bright VPN is entirely free, and there is no paid version. You pay with your connection: while your device is idle, Bright Data routes its clients' traffic through it to collect data from the internet. You can limit the usage and set a schedule, but you have to allow at least three types of companies to use your bandwidth. On top of that, the service keeps the connection IP, there is no iPhone app, torrents are blocked, and Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ are not supported. That gives a final score of 1.13 out of 10 and 357th place out of 377. It makes sense to look for a replacement by asking two questions: what the free plan is paid with and what the service says about its logs.

Which ones from the list are actually better

Six alternatives were picked for feature similarity, and almost all of them are just as weak. There is one noticeable step up: Ciphra VPN with a score of 2.74. According to our data, it does not keep the connection IP, it has a free plan, the paid one starts at €2.86 per month, refunds are given within 30 days, and it offers obfuscation (stealth mode) for networks with blocking. JewelVPN (1.55) also claims it does not keep the IP, but it works only on Windows and Android and offers 10 countries.

Where the same problems remain

Yuutto (1.54) and EonVPN (0.44) keep the connection IP, just like Bright VPN, so switching to them will not add any privacy. Yuutto at least has apps for all four major systems and a price from €0.36 per month. SpeedX VPN (1.47) and GalleonVPN (1.43) are registered in China, and that is a separate red flag for us. If your priority is a free service with no conditions like someone else's traffic, look wider: the free VPN ranking has more options than this list of similar services.
